I built an AI-based pick a card app
It doesn't predict your future, it just gives some encouragement
I Feel Seen is a card-drawing experience where you pick nine cards — three words, three colors, three objects — and based on the cards you pick, Claude tells you where you are right now and offers some words of encouragement.
I specifically tried to stay away from divining the future or assessing your personality type. Just a vibe, where you are right now, what you might be carrying, what might be underneath it.
How?
I published the source code here: https://github.com/earlyspark/ifeelseen. I used Claude Code in VS Code, switching between Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6. The Reflections are provided by Claude Sonnet 4. I spent about 2 weeks in grief, $17/month on Claude’s Pro plan, a day planning, and 6 hours vibe coding.
The AI takes your nine cards and weaves them into three things: an interpretation of where you are right now, an insight about what’s underneath, and an encouraging thought.
Why?
I feel like recent times have just been wild with unprecedented political turmoil, conflict, and personal struggle. When I came across comics or humorous clips that resonated with me, it made me feel less like I’m the only person going through things.
It made me feel seen. I mentioned in my last post, how AI can’t replace humans with respect to offering shared experience and resonance. However, what AI can do well is help make sense of scattered thoughts, and provide insights that you may have missed.
So I wanted to build something that provides a way to take the unsorted, unnamed thing you’re carrying and give it a little shape.
What’s next?
I might expand the site to include other types of genAI-powered things or even add some of my old comics to it. Or, it may just sit in the vibe coded pile until I get bored of it and move onto something else. Either way, if you try it out, let me know what you think!
